Cookie Policy
Current and conditional cookie and local-storage use on GhostFont.org
About This Policy
This policy explains when GhostFont.org and its service providers use cookies, local storage, and similar browser technologies. It should be read with the Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small value associated with a website request. Local storage is browser storage that remains on a device until it is cleared. Web beacons and similar identifiers can record that a resource or advertisement was loaded.
Current Essential and Preference Storage
| Technology | When it is used | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare security or availability cookies | When Cloudflare determines they are needed for security, abuse prevention, or service delivery | Distinguish legitimate requests, apply security controls, and keep the site available. Names and duration can vary by Cloudflare service and event. |
theme local-storage value | When a visitor chooses or uses a display theme | Remember light, dark, or system appearance on the same browser. This is local storage, not an advertising cookie. |
| Analytics-consent local-storage value | When a visitor accepts or refuses statistics through the regional prompt or footer settings | Remember that statistics choice in the same browser. It does not contain the phrase entered into Ghost Font. |
These technologies do not store the phrase typed into the public Ghost Font experience. The phrase and locally recorded video remain in browser memory or in the visitor's chosen download location.
Google Analytics
GhostFont.org uses Google Analytics for basic aggregate page statistics on
approved public production pages. The Google tag loads independently of Google
AdSense and Google Privacy & Messaging. Advertising storage, advertising user
data, and advertising personalization remain denied worldwide in the current
implementation.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland,
Analytics storage defaults to denied. The same fail-safe default applies when
the visitor's region cannot be determined. Before a visitor accepts statistics,
Google receives cookieless page-view measurements and the site does not permit
Analytics cookies such as _ga or _ga_* to be read or written. Accepting
statistics changes Analytics storage to granted, after which Google Analytics
may use those cookies to distinguish visits. Refusing or withdrawing the choice
leaves Analytics storage denied.
For visitors outside those regions, Analytics storage defaults to granted, so
Google Analytics may use Analytics cookies unless they are blocked by the
browser or another privacy control. Google Privacy & Messaging may manage the
three advertising-related signals separately. It does not decide the site's
regional Analytics-storage choice.
GhostFont.org reports only the seven current public HTML routes without query strings or fragments and reduces the referrer to its origin. These are the homepage, AI Strikes Back article, About, Contact, Cookie Policy, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service. Disabled routes, error pages, and unknown paths are excluded. The site does not intentionally send the phrase entered in the motion experiment or contact-message contents as Analytics event parameters.
Google explains this processing in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Advertising Cookies and Similar Technologies
GhostFont.org loads the Google AdSense bootstrap on approved public production pages. Depending on Google's review status, configuration, region, and consent, Google and other advertising vendors may place or read advertising cookies, use web beacons, process IP addresses and other identifiers, and receive page or ad-interaction information. These technologies may be used to serve, limit, personalize, secure, and measure ads.
Visitors can manage Google advertising personalization through Google Ads Settings and read more in Google's advertising technologies policy. The application does not intentionally send the phrase typed into Ghost Font to Google as an advertising parameter.
On the homepage and AI Strikes Back article, a script from
effectivecpmnetwork.com supplies a native banner for visitors
confidently identified as outside the European Economic Area, United Kingdom,
and Switzerland. The script remains blocked when the visitor's region cannot be
determined. This advertising provider may use cookies, local storage, pixels,
or similar identifiers for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and
interaction reporting. It also receives the network and device information
needed to answer the browser's request. Google's consent interface does not
control this separate provider.
The site does not intentionally attach the Ghost Font phrase to either advertising script or an ad event. Because third-party code runs in the page, the experience should not be used to enter passwords or other sensitive text.
Managing Browser Storage
Most browsers allow visitors to inspect, delete, or block cookies and local storage. Browser privacy or content-blocking tools may also restrict Analytics or advertising technologies. Clearing local storage resets the saved theme and Analytics-consent choice.
Controls for Google advertising are also available at Google Ads Settings. Browser controls and provider controls operate independently of GhostFont.org.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or an
unidentified region receive a prompt to accept or refuse statistics. Every
visitor can use the site's Privacy & cookie settings control to review or
change the Analytics choice. That choice is saved in local storage on the same
browser. Withdrawing changes Analytics storage to denied for future
measurement. Browser settings can be used separately to remove any Analytics
cookies already stored on the device.
If Google Privacy & Messaging is active and its advertising consent API is ready, the same settings panel also links to separate advertising privacy choices. Browser or content-blocking controls can independently block Google Analytics requests.
Changes and Contact
This policy will be updated when active storage technologies or advertising providers materially change. Questions can be sent to contact@ghostfont.org.
